Western Gas Partners LP board announces initial distribution
The board of directors of the general partner of Western Gas Partners
LP (NYSE:WES), which owns, operates, acquires and develops midstream
energy assets, reported on 14 July a prorated quarterly cash
distribution of USD0.1582 per unit for the second quarter of 2008.
The distribution corresponds to a quarterly distribution of USD0.30 per
unit, which equates to USD1.20 per unit, on an annual basis.
The distribution will be paid on 14 August 2008 to all unit holders of
record at the close of business on 1 August 2008.

The Australian Government has issued its green paper on financial services and credit reform. It is part of its reaction to collapses that could cost investors up to $A2.7 billion, including those of Westcorp, Fincorp, Lift Capital and Opes Prime. The paper proposes measures such as increased regulation of many parts of the financial services sector, but takes a softer stance on financial planners, who are used by five million Australians. Class actions are being taken against planners involved with failed companies. Part of the problem is the potential for bias in the payment of commissions.
